INTRO SCHEDULED WORKSHOPS GROUP LEADERS INFO

Our company mission is to help Celiacs learn to relax and enjoy their lives - despite the regimentation and inconvenience of the Gluten-free diet. Feedback from participants in our Workshops tells us they are an important tool in helping us to help those on the Gluten-free diet. Whether new to the diet - or even if they’ve been on it for years - most say that they still learned something to improve their enjoyment of going out to eat more than before they attended our Workshop.

Since our first Workshop in March, 2000 we have presented these informative and entertaining four (4) hour workshops to thousands of individuals on the Gluten-free diet in the United States and Canada. The size of your support group isn’t important - As long as you can realistically guesstimate that we’ll be able to have at least 35 paying participants attend we’d love to set one up. Or, in some cases you may want to join with other support groups in your geographic area and offer the Workshop as a joint endeavor. We have given Workshops in cities of all sizes across North America; i.e. Weirton, WV - Oakland, CA - Hamilton, Ontario, Canada - Houston, TX - Waterloo, IA - York, PA - Philadelphia, PA and many more. Many of these cities we’ve already given our 2nd Workshop.

They are designed to encourage discussion and participation. We discuss a broad range of topics related to being on the Gluten-free diet, such as: Who to talk to in restaurants - Psychological aspect of being on the diet - Eating out with children on the Gluten-free diet - Being Creative when ordering - Knowing your diet with certainty - Chef’s talk - How to read menus - How to ask for help and get it - Family, social and business eating out situations - and a lot more.

To agree to a Workshop we request the following of the local support group:

* A conference room able to comfortably accommodate 50-100 persons.
* Assistance in announcing the Workshop by mailing a promotional piece [that we’ll provide to you label and stamp ready] to all your members. The promotional mailer should be sent out 7 weeks prior to the date of the Workshop.
* Any other promotional help you can supply - newsletter, local newspaper, etc.
* A carousel slide projector and screen.
* We’ll have a break about halfway through the Workshop and most groups provide drinks with snacks brought by participants (like at most local support group meetings) Some invite food vendors to be there at halftime and give out their products.

Cost for the Workshop to the participants is $20 per person or $10 per person for Bob & Ruth’s members.

Give us a couple of choices of your desired date [usually Saturday or Sunday] and time. That’s it - we’ll take care of the rest. It is our suggestion that the Workshop not be in place of your regularly scheduled meeting, because of the need for new members to have that more intimate forum when they most need it.

We look forward to providing your group with an informative and entertaining workshop. If you have questions or want to book a specific date, please contact us via e-mail or at 410-939-3218
